He passes everyone because the BMW is higher class, thats why he starts behind. I saw the Info on the original video. Good driver tho. and its the GEAR box making that sound.

Did ANYTHING pass him??? There were astin martins, way to many porsche's, a plethora of E36 bmws. Even saw 1 or 2 BMW M Coupes... And NOTHING passed him? wtf lol

the sound comes from the dog cut gears. regular cars that we drive have gears cut differently in order to not have that whine, however, they lose their efficiency. so race cars resort to dog cut gears to maximize the power from the engine to the wheels.
